Definition

Policy advisers assess the effect of changes in legislation and implement changes when necessary, consider policy options and make recommendations, so that their department or agency gives value for money, support ministers by providing information on matters associated with their department or agency consult and negotiate with other professionals in the private and public sectors on behalf of their department and manage the development and implementation of major project.
